Prof. Dr. Ulrike Röttger is a Professor of Public Relations at the Department of Communication, University of Münster. She holds leadership roles as Director of the Institute of Communication Science and has served as Chairwoman of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Science (DGPuK). Her research focuses on strategic communication, internal communication dynamics, CSR-communication, and organizational communication.
Academically, she earned her Dr. phil. from the University of Zurich (1999) and has held prior roles including Research Assistant at the University of Hamburg and Assistant Professor at the University of Zurich. Her work bridges theoretical insights with practical applications in PR and communication management.
Recent research projects include studies on internal communication effectiveness, corporate stance communication (Haltungskommunikation), and the role of communication in private universities. She has supervised multiple doctoral candidates exploring topics like trust in digital communication and e-government adoption.
Prof. Röttger has received awards such as the 2000 DGPuK sponsorship award. Her publications span academic journals and edited volumes, addressing themes like opinion leadership in internal communication and strategic communication frameworks.
