Ulrike Myrzik

Prof. Ulrike Myrzik is a Professor of Photography in the Department of Design at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart (ABK Stuttgart). She has held this position since 2019 and works in collaboration with photographer Manfred Jarisch since 1993. Her practice bridges applied photography and art, focusing on themes such as built space, architecture, and their social and environmental impacts.

• Freelance photographer with publications in SZ Magazine, ZEIT Magazine, Greenpeace Magazine, and book exhibitions

Her research explores intersections between technical precision and conceptual depth in photography, with a focus on political, social, and architectural narratives. She integrates historical and modern photographic practices into her pedagogy.

Scientific awards include the German Reportage Prize (2013), Hansel Mieth Prize (2007), and Agfa Young Talent Award (1993), among others. She also participated in the World Press Masterclass in Rotterdam (1997).
