Ulrike Franke is a researcher at the University of Tübingen and a member of the Tübingen Center for Digital Education (TüCeDE) since 2023. She works within the Tübingen School of Education and coordinates external communications for the MINT-ProNeD joint project. Franke is part of Prof. Dr. Andreas Lachner’s working group and has previously held research assistant roles at LMU Munich and the University of Tübingen.
- Master's: Education with focus on educational research and management (LMU Munich, 2012-2014)
- Bachelor's: Pedagogy/Educational Science (LMU Munich, 2009-2012)
Her research focuses on teachers’ experiential knowledge, digital media didactics, technology integration in education, and science communication. She investigates how pre-service teachers develop technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) and media educational competence, particularly through collaborative design practices, video-based feedback, and scenario-based assessments.
Her recent publications include studies on peer feedback mechanisms, metacognitive accuracy in self-assessment, and interdisciplinary approaches to teacher training. Key projects she has contributed to include TPACK 4.0, CompEL, and Digital Campus Bavaria, reflecting her commitment to practice-oriented, research-based professionalization in digital education.
At TüCeDE, Franke leads the professionalization work area and collaborates with institutions like the University of Hildesheim and the Virtual University of Bavaria. Her work emphasizes bridging research and transfer, as seen in her participation in conferences (EARLI, GEBF) and lectures on digital teaching methods across Germany.
