Ulrich Teubner

Prof. Ulrich Teubner is a Professor of Materials Science/Microtechnology in the field of Photonics at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, Department of Technology - Natural Science Technology. His research focuses on ultrafast laser pulses, high-power lasers, laser-matter interaction, XUV optics, detection systems, and microscale shock waves. He leads the Intensive Laserpulse Group (AG Intensive Laserpulse) within the Institute for Lasers and Optics (ILO).

His recent publication Optical Imaging and Photography (co-authored with H.J. Brückner) explores imaging optics and sensor systems. His work is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), including projects like 'Membrane-free shock waves in micro-shock tubes.' He reviews for journals such as Phys. Rev. Lett. and Appl. Phys. B.

He serves as a contact for photonics research and oversees optical imaging initiatives. His lab activities include developing ultra-short laser pulse applications and XUV diagnostics through free-electron lasers.
