Ulrich Krüger

Ulrich Krüger is Professor of Business Law at the University of Bremen's Faculty of Economics since 2003, with prior roles as Lecturer at Hamburg University of Economics and Politics (1999-2003) and Visiting Scholar at University of Valencia (2011). He currently chairs the Examination Board for the Dual Study Program in Public Management and previously served as Dean of Studies for the Faculty of Economics (2016-2020) and Head of the Business Administration/International Management program (2006-2016).

His educational background includes:

• Doctoral scholarship at University of Bremen (1995-1998)

Professor Krüger's research centers on digital law intersections and financial regulation, with primary expertise in Digital Sociometry and Law, Business Ethics and Compliance, and Comparative Financial Services Law. His work critically examines German, European, and US legal frameworks regarding SME crises, consumer protection, and historical legal developments, emphasizing contemporary challenges in digital finance and ethical corporate governance.

His recent publications analyze transnational legal responses to digitalization, particularly in Digitalization and discrimination in access to financial services (2022) and Digital sociometry and financial services law (2021), revealing trends in discrimination mitigation and data-driven regulatory approaches across jurisdictions.

Academic leadership defines his career: he developed the Master's program 'Sustainable Business & Entrepreneurship' (2021-2022), chairs multiple examination boards, and contributed a regulatory report for Germany's Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. His memberships include the European Law Institute and German Lawyers' Association, while co-editing the journal 'Consumer and Law'.
