Prof. Ulrich Joger is a Professor at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, affiliated with the Zoological Institute under the Faculty of Life Sciences. He teaches courses on reptile biology, dinosaurs, and the evolution of humanity. His career includes roles as a curator at the Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt and Director of the Braunschweig Natural History Museum, where he organized over 20 exhibitions. He holds a Ph.D. in phylogenetic analysis of African geckos from the University of Marburg/Lahn (1983), followed by postdoctoral research at Yale University. His research focuses on reptile taxonomy, phylogenetics, and paleontology, with contributions to over 250 scientific articles and 20 authored books. He serves as President of the Braunschweig Natural History Society and edits the Handbook of Zoology’s reptile volumes.
