Stuart Nielsen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) within the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on evolutionary biology and herpetology, investigating the phylogenetics, taxonomy, and conservation of reptiles and amphibians across diverse geographic regions.

Research Interests: Stuart’s work spans evolutionary genetics, molecular ecology, and systematic biology, with a particular emphasis on reptile and amphibian adaptation, biogeography, and phylogenetic relationships. His publications highlight studies on sex chromosome evolution in geckos, morphological changes in frogs, and species discovery in New Zealand.
