Ulf Gerdtham is a Professor at Lund University, holding joint appointments in the Department of Economics (School of Economics and Management) and the Medical Faculty. He also serves as Research Team Manager in Health Economics and is affiliated with the Centre for Economic Demography and EpiHealth: Epidemiology for Health. His career includes roles as an Assistant/Associate Professor at Stockholm School of Economics and a visiting Professor at the University of Aberdeen. He initiated the Health Economics Program at Lund University and leads the Health Economics Unit in Malmö. He is an Adjunct Professor at Monash University and Research Director at the Swedish Institute of Health Economics.
Education: PhD in Health Economics from Linköping University (1991), followed by academic positions in Sweden and the UK. Research focuses on income-related health inequality, economic evaluations of health interventions, and health system cost analysis. His work spans 252 publications in journals like the Journal of Health Economics and the American Journal of Public Health.
