Dr. Ugur Ayturk is an Assistant Professor of Physiology and Biophysics in Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Scientist in the Musculoskeletal Integrity Program at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). He holds a PhD in Genetics from Colorado State University and has expertise in bone biology, osteoblast differentiation, and musculoskeletal research.

Dr. Ayturk’s research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms governing osteoblast differentiation and function under genetic and environmental perturbations, using advanced techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing, transcriptional profiling, and genetic modification of mouse models. His work has significant implications for enhancing bone formation and regeneration.
His publications (2013–2022) highlight his contributions to bone biology, genetic mutations in skeletal disorders, and post-traumatic osteoarthritis.
