معرفی
Umut Elboğa is a Professor at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Medicine, specializing in the Department of Internal Medicine (Nuclear Medicine). He obtained his medical degree (1998–2004) and completed a residency in Nuclear Medicine (2005–2009) at the same institution. His academic progression includes roles as Assistant Professor (2015), Associate Professor (2017), and Professor (2023).
His research centers on nuclear medicine oncology, with emphasis on PET/CT diagnostics (FDG, Ga-68 FAPI, PSMA) and radionuclide therapies (Lu-177 PSMA, Y-90 microspheres). Key areas include thyroid/prostate cancer, bone metastasis palliation, and theranostic applications. He has co-authored 11 book chapters on thyroid nodules, FAPI imaging, and radionuclide treatments.
Recent publications (2021–2024) demonstrate a focus on innovative PET tracers (e.g., Ga-68 FAPI for breast/thyroid cancers) and radioligand therapies (Lu-177 PSMA for prostate cancer). His work validates novel imaging biomarkers and optimizes treatment sequencing in metastatic disease.
Dr. Elboğa actively presents at international conferences, including the European Association of Nuclear Medicine Congress, where he discusses PSMA theranostics, FAPI-PET applications, and thyroid cancer management. He has contributed to clinical guidelines for neuroendocrine tumor imaging and liver cancer radiomicrosphere therapy.
