Tyler Thompson is an Adjunct Instructor of Informatics at Fort Hays State University (FHSU), concurrently serving as a Senior Specialist of IT Client Services at Merck & Co. His expertise spans cyber security, healthcare IT systems, and web development. He holds a B.S. in Information Networking and Telecommunications from FHSU, an M.P.S. in Security and Safety Leadership, and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Cyber Security Enforcement from The George Washington University.
Research interests focus on cyber conflict, computer network operations, and securing healthcare systems. His professional background includes policy work at the local/federal levels, contributing to the Startup Act legislation under Senator Jerry Moran. Technically, he has extensive experience in PHP/MySQL/LDAP development and has authored/edited content for PCMech.com.
Active in academic governance, Thompson serves on FHSU’s Adjunct Advisory Committee and the FHSU Foundation’s Journey Capital Campaign as co-chair. He was appointed to the FHSU Presidential Search Committee by the Kansas Board of Regents and sits on Kansas DECA’s Board of Directors.
