Tyler Ray is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hawaii’s College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2015). His research focuses on wearable sensors, microfluidics, additive manufacturing, multiscale materials, nanoparticles/nanomaterials, and MEMS/NEMS fabrication. He leads the Ray Research Group, with a website at rayresearchgroup.com.

His work spans interdisciplinary applications in biomedical engineering, materials science, and flexible electronics. Key projects include non-invasive medical diagnostics via epidermal electronics and advanced material deposition techniques using microfluidics. He teaches ME213: Introduction to Engineering Design at the University of Hawaii. His lab explores cutting-edge technologies for wearable health monitoring and advanced manufacturing solutions.
