معرفی
Dr. Jeongwon Park is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. His research spans multiple disciplines including nanoelectronics, materials science, and biomedical engineering, with a focus on developing novel electronic devices and sensors for various applications.
Dr. Park's research interests include nano-electronics, micro/nanodevice fabrication, flexible hybrid electronics, low-dimensional nanomaterials (1D/2D CNT, graphene, MoS2, etc), semiconductor, wide-bandgap materials, wearable devices and sensors, bio-sensors, energy materials and devices, MEMS/NEMS, and materials science. His work is highly interdisciplinary, combining electrical and optical technologies to investigate complex topics in materials physics and devices. He has three primary research focus areas: electronic materials research for 7nm technology node and beyond, novel electronic device applications with nano-scale 2D materials, and GaN electronics for power conversion applications.
His recent publications (2022) demonstrate a strong emphasis on 2D materials, van der Waals heterostructures, and their applications in electronics, sensing, and energy. He has made significant contributions to understanding the properties of materials like boron nitride, silicon carbide, and transition metal dichalcogenides, as well as developing novel devices such as tunnel field-effect transistors, biosensors, and deep brain stimulation technologies. His work on Parkinson's disease combines engineering principles with medical applications to develop better diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Dr. Park teaches undergraduate courses including Circuit Theory I & II and Fundamentals of Semiconductor Devices, and graduate courses including Nanoelectronics and Nanomaterials. His lab actively recruits motivated undergraduate and graduate students interested in cutting-edge research areas spanning nano-electronics, micro/nanodevice fabrication, flexible hybrid electronics, low-dimensional nanomaterials, semiconductor materials, wearable devices and sensors, bio-sensors, energy materials and devices, MEMS/NEMS, and materials science.
