Tyler Frederick

Tyler Frederick is Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in Criminology and Justice at Ontario Tech University. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto and completed postdoctoral training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

His research examines:

• Transitions out of homelessness for youth
• Measurement of housing stability
• Community-based interventions

Current projects include developing culturally adapted housing programs for Indigenous youth and evaluating rent subsidy interventions through randomized controlled trials. Dr. Frederick employs qualitative methodologies to understand the lived experiences of marginalized populations.
