Turner McGehee is a Professor of Visual Arts at Hastings College, where he has served since 1983. He chaired the Department of Visual Arts from 2000 to 2015. His teaching focuses on printmaking, drawing, and art history.
Education:
- B.A. in Psychology, Washington and Lee University (1975)
- M.F.A. in Printmaking, University of North Carolina, Greensboro (1981)
McGehee’s creative work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Joslyn Museum (Omaha), Sioux City Art Center, and venues in Taipei, Amsterdam, and Buchenbach. Solo exhibitions include shows at the Haydon Gallery (Lincoln, NE) and the Museum of Nebraska Art.
Research Interests:
His lectures explore interdisciplinary themes such as the art of the ancient Maya, the intersection of jazz and visual art, psychological aspects of creativity, and the evolution of Christian iconography.
