Jerome Dubas is a Visiting Instructor of Visual Arts - Ceramics at Hastings College, where he teaches Ceramics and Art History. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hastings College (1983) and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Nebraska, Kearney (1999). With over 27 years of teaching experience, he returned to full-time instruction at Hastings College in 2021 after previously serving as a visiting instructor in 2000-01. Parallel to his college role, Dubas taught in Nebraska’s public schools for 38 years.
His artistic practice focuses on ceramics, with works exhibited in prestigious venues including the Nebraska Biennial Exhibition (2021), 1516 Art Gallery (UNO), Fred Simon Gallery, Museum of Nebraska Art, and Western Nebraska Arts Center. His artwork is held in collections across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Netherlands, and Brazil. His pedagogical excellence has been recognized through awards such as the Governor’s Art Award for Outstanding Arts Educator (2020) and the Dinsdale Outstanding Teacher Award.
