Tuomas Heikkilä is a Professor in Church History at the Faculty of Theology, University of Helsinki. His academic career spans roles as University Lecturer in Church History (2017-2019), Director of the Finnish Scholarly Institute in Rome (2013-2017), and Academy of Finland Research Fellow (2007). He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Helsinki (2002) and has served as a docent in Finnish history (Turku, 2013), Church history (Helsinki, 2006), and General history (Helsinki, 2003).
