Tulli Mauro

Prof. Tulli Mauro is a Full Professor of Greek Literature at the University of Pisa since 2006, following his role as Associate Professor (1998–2006). His research focuses on Platonic studies, Greek Epic poetry, ancient rhetoric, papyrology, and Hellenistic philosophy. He has held leadership roles in academia, including President of the PhD Programme “Scienze dell’Antichità e Archeologia” (2020–2022), Director of the Department of Philology, Literature, and Linguistics (2012–2016), and membership in national and international scholarly organizations.

His academic contributions include co-founding the International Plato Society (IPS), the Centro Interuniversitario Greco-Arabo-Latino (GrAL), and serving on the Executive Board of the Centro Internazionale per lo Studio dei Papiri Ercolanesi (CISPE). He received the Order of the Cherubino award in 2022.

Prof. Mauro has advised doctoral programs and led institutional committees, emphasizing classical studies and cultural exchange. He is affiliated with interdisciplinary research teams such as CISPE and GrAL, fostering collaboration across philology, archaeology, and cultural heritage.
