Trude Renwick is a Lecturer in Architectural Studies specializing in the intersection of urban anthropology and Southeast Asian architectural development. Her work examines inequality, labor migration, and spiritual/aesthetic dimensions of commercial and infrastructural spaces in Thailand and the broader region. She holds a Master of Design Studies from Harvard University and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
Research interests include urbanism in Southeast Asia, commercial/spiritual infrastructures, and ethnographic studies of urban transformation. Her recent articles analyze topics like mourning rituals in Bangkok's public spaces, spatial displacement dynamics, and the political economies of street vendors and markets.
Though no awards are listed, her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to urban sustainability and cultural preservation through critical analyses of spatial politics and community dynamics. She currently accepts PhD students and maintains active collaborations in Southeast Asian urban studies.
