Trude Renwick

Dr. Trude Renwick is a Lecturer in Architectural Studies at the University of Manchester's Department of Architecture. She holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley (2021) and a Master of Design Studies from Harvard University (2012). Her research employs ethnographic methods to explore the intersections of commerce, infrastructure, and spiritual space in Thailand and Southeast Asia, focusing on urban inequality, aesthetics, and labor migration.

Before joining the University of Manchester, she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hong Kong's Society of Fellows in the Humanities and a Fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and urban development. She is currently accepting PhD students and engages in interdisciplinary research collaborations, including contributions to MSA LIVE and URBED+ initiatives.
