Troy Stich is Assistant Professor in Chemistry at Wake Forest University, where he leads research on metalloenzyme catalysis using biochemical and spectroscopic techniques. His lab specializes in radical SAM enzymes that employ iron-sulfur clusters and S-adenosylmethionine to drive complex biochemical transformations.
Research focuses on characterizing enzymatic radical generation mechanisms using electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. Recent publications investigate reaction intermediates in cofactor biosynthesis, manganese oxidation pathways, and heterometallic cluster reactivity.
Lab members include doctoral and master's students working on protein expression, anaerobic purification, and spectroscopic characterization of metalloenzymes.
