Dr. Troy Lavers is an Associate Professor at Leicester Law School, University of Leicester. He joined the institution in 2002 and served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Surrey's School of Law from 2014 to 2016 before returning to Leicester. He holds a PhD in International Public Law (2005), focusing on extraterritorial jurisdiction of economic sanctions and international criminal law.
His teaching responsibilities include International Law, Foundations of Canadian Law (LLB), and Feminism and International Law (LLM). He currently directs the JD Pathway LLB program and oversees Canadian recruitment for Leicester Law School.
Research interests center on international law, with a focus on feminist perspectives and the intersection of economic sanctions with criminal law. He co-founded the Feminism and International Law interest group under the European Society of International Law.
