Trond Arild Tjøstheim is a Researcher in Cognitive Science at the Department of Philosophy, Lund University. His work bridges cognitive science, psychology, and computer science, focusing on neural networks, communication as a biological phenomenon, and philosophical considerations of mental states. He investigates memory models for robots, humanoid platforms, cognitive aspects of rhythm, and artificial arousal systems. Current teaching includes the 'Social AI Through the Looking Glass' course (SASH92).
Research interests include system-level brain modeling, robot control, and the interplay between memory and reinforcement learning. Key projects involve the MoMa project (kinematics of human-robot interaction) and the CogPhi research group. He has been awarded the Oscar II's stipendium (2023).
