Oksana Mont is a Professor in Sustainable Consumption Governance at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University. She is also a Wallenberg Scholar and holds a PhD in Technology from Lund University (2004), an MSc in Environmental Management and Policy (1996), and an MSc in Biology and Chemistry from Ukraine (1992).
Her research focuses on trans-disciplinary and international studies of sustainable consumption governance, post-growth business models, and policy frameworks. Key areas include the sharing economy, circular economy, sustainable lifestyles, and policy evaluation. She has led over 20 years of projects and authored/co-authored over 250 publications, including books like Sustainability and the Political Economy of Welfare (2016) and the Research Agenda for Sustainable Consumption Governance (2019).
Notable awards include the Wallenberg Scholar title (2024) and a Highly Commended Award from Emerald Literati Network (2010). Her work bridges academia and policy, with contributions to EU-funded initiatives such as Mistra SC (Sustainable Consumption). She collaborates globally on projects like CULTIVATE (food-sharing resilience) and Urban Arena (urban sustainability).
Key publications explore topics like business model impacts, food-sharing economics, digitalization’s role in consumption, and 1.5°C lifestyle challenges. Her research emphasizes policy design, institutional pathways, and reducing rebound effects in sustainability efforts.
