Troels Krarup is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning, Aalborg University (Copenhagen Campus). He holds a PhD from Sciences Po (MaxPo Center) and has held academic positions at the University of Copenhagen and DTU Management. His research focuses on the role of economic expertise in green transition, European financial market integration, and urban greenspaces engagement. Methodologically, he combines problem analysis, Foucault-inspired archaeology, and mixed quantitative-qualitative approaches.
Key projects include 'Green Market Making: Sustainable Energy and the Single Market in Europe' (2025-2028) and 'KINETIC: Knowledge Integration for Neighbourhoods in Energy Transition'. He has published extensively on financial infrastructures (TARGET2-Securities), ordoliberalism's theological roots, and EU AI policy. His research also involves national surveys on urban greenspaces engagement in Denmark, employing advanced statistical techniques like cluster analysis.
He has received the Teaching prize 2018 from the University of Copenhagen and frequently presents at international conferences on topics ranging from economic discourse to climate policy. His work bridges sociology, political economy, and environmental studies.
