Trine Flockhart is a Full-time Professor at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy, holding a Chair in Security Studies at the Florence School of Transnational Governance. She is currently on leave from the University of Southern Denmark, where she was a Professor of International Relations and Chair of Social Science at the Danish Institute for Advanced Studies (D-IAS). Her research focuses on global order transformation, NATO, transatlantic relations, and resilience theory.

Research Interests: Her work examines the crisis of the liberal international order, multi-order world dynamics, and governance challenges in domains like autonomous weapons, climate change, and global health. She leads a project funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark exploring resilience-governance in US-led, Chinese, and Russian orders.
Key Projects: 'Anticipating Governance in a Multi-Order World' investigates transnational governance across geopolitical blocs. Previous roles include Head of Defense and Security at DIIS and Senior Fellow at the German Marshall Fund.
Teaching: Courses on European Security, Global Order, and International Relations across Denmark, the UK, and Australia.
