Triin Metsla is a Lecturer and Junior Research Fellow at the Estonian Academy of Arts' Institute of Art History and Visual Culture. She holds a Master's in Art History (2018) and is pursuing a PhD focusing on the political self-determination of Estonian painters in exile post-WWII. Her research explores art historiography's sociopolitical construction, decanonization, and archival critiques. She teaches courses on global contemporary art, the art market, and galleristics. Recent curatorial work includes the 2023–2024 exhibition "The Art of Adaptation" at Kadriorg Art Museum, examining environmental humanitarianism.
