Trieu Le is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Toledo, where he has been since 2009. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University at Buffalo (2007), followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Toronto/Fields Institute (2007-2008) and the University of Waterloo (2008-2009). His research focuses on Operator Theory and Operator Algebras, with emphasis on Toeplitz, Hankel, and composition operators on function spaces like Bergman, Hardy, and Segal-Bargmann spaces. He also explores dilation theory, frame theory, and applications in Machine Learning. Le is an organizer of the Complex Analysis and Operator Theory seminar and advises graduate students in these areas.
- Education:
- Ph.D., Mathematics, University at Buffalo, 2007
- Postdoctoral Fellowships: University of Toronto/Fields Institute (2007-2008), University of Waterloo (2008-2009)
Research interests include the study of operators on function spaces, with particular attention to their spectral properties, compactness, and structure. He has contributed to understanding the role of reproducing kernel methods in Machine Learning and the interplay between operator algebras and complex analysis.
Le has mentored graduate students, including Uthpala Nawalage (2020) and Damith Thilakarathna (2019). He is part of the Complex Analysis and Operator Theory research group at the University of Toledo, collaborating on topics such as operator commutants and Toeplitz algebra structures.
