Trevor Norris is a Full Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Brock University, Canada, and Director of the Posthumanism Research Institute. He holds a PhD in Philosophy of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto.
His research focuses on the intersection of education, politics, and philosophy, particularly analyzing the impact of neoliberalism and consumerism on education. Key themes include critical pedagogy, democracy in education, and the philosophical foundations of schooling. He has led SSHRC-funded projects on philosophy education and the public good of education.
Dr. Norris is editor-in-chief of Philosophical Inquiry in Education and former editor of Brock Education: A Journal of Research and Practice. His work has been translated into multiple languages, including Japanese, French, and Mandarin.
Notable awards include SSHRC grants (2022, 2019, 2011) and Brock University research awards. He advises graduate students in the PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities program and teaches courses such as History and Philosophy of Education and Consumerism as Worldview.
