Travis Yates is an Associate Professor of Communication at Quincy University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Arts from Southern Illinois University, a Master’s in Education from Quincy University, and a Master’s in American Media and Popular Culture from Arizona State University. His research focuses on leveraging popular culture and new technologies to enhance cultural understanding among students.

**Teaching & Experience:** Prior to academia, Yates worked in television news for a decade as a producer, reporter, and videographer. He also served as QU’s Coordinator of Public Relations for three years. His courses span film, television, and public relations, emphasizing hands-on multimedia production.
