Tracy Bass

Tracy Bass is Senior Lecturer and convenor of the MA Filmmaking (Producing) at Goldsmiths, University of London. An award-winning documentary filmmaker, she integrates professional practice with critical media studies in her teaching and research.

Her research examines documentary storytelling with focus on queer representation, autobiographical forms, and ethical practices in non-fiction filmmaking. Current projects investigate new documentary hybrids integrating archival footage and personal narrative. Recent publications analyze shame dynamics in representational politics and queer historical reclamation through archival film.

Bass's creative work has screened internationally, including the feature documentary 'Queerama' exploring a century of LGBTQ+ representation using archival materials. Her films often examine gender, sexuality, and social class through intimate personal stories.
