Tracy Atkinson

Tracy Atkinson is a Lecturer (Teaching Fellow) in Digital Education at the University of Strathclyde, within the School of Education under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her work focuses on technology-enhanced learning across primary, secondary, and higher education, emphasizing digital pedagogy, tool implementation, and metacognition's role in education. She co-authored the National Framework for Digital Literacies in Initial Teacher Education (2020) and leads initiatives like the Strathclyde Teaching Excellence Programme exploring social media in education.

Research interests include AI integration in primary education, teacher training for digital tools, and safeguarding children’s wellbeing through educational policies. She actively participates in the Scottish Council of Deans of Education: Digital Teaching and Learning Group and chairs the Institute of Education’s Blended Learning Working Group. Recent collaboration projects include studies on lifelong learning through reflection and child safeguarding in educational contexts.
