Tracey E. W. Laird is the Harry L., Corinne Bryant, and Cottie Beverly Slade Professor of Humanities and Professor of Music at Agnes Scott College. Her scholarly work intersects race, media, region, and identity within Southern US musical traditions. She has authored and edited multiple books including the recent Dolly Parton: 100 Remarkable Moments in an Extraordinary Life (2023) and Country Music, U.S.A. (2018). Her research focuses on American music history, television's impact on music culture, and cross-cultural musical analysis.
