Dr. Tracey Chamlin is a Lecturer in Special Education at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), based on the Toowoomba campus since 2015. Her work centers on inclusive education, social justice, and equity in educational practices. She holds a PhD from USQ, an MEd (Hons) from the University of Auckland, and teaching qualifications from institutions in New Zealand and Hawaii.
Previously, she served as Statewide Education Advisor for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) with Queensland’s Disability Services Support Unit (DSSU). Her professional experience spans 28 years in education, including 15 years in teacher professional development and 9 years of tertiary teaching. She currently leads academic integrity initiatives and directs the Primary Program in the School of Education.
Research interests include early career teacher experiences, inclusive pedagogies, and bridging theory-practice gaps through university-school collaborations. She actively contributes to professional organizations like the Australian Association of Special Education (AASE) as National and Queensland Chapter President, and the Australian Teacher Education Association (ATEA).
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as SPE3003 - Teaching Students with Moderate to High Support Needs and ESI4100 - Promoting Inclusive Practices. Her PhD research explored early career teachers' approaches to supporting students with diverse needs in general education settings.
