Torunn L. Tryggestad serves as Deputy Director at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) since 2017, leading the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security since 2015. She also holds a part-time Associate Professor position at the Department of Psychology, University of Oslo (2017-2019).

Research Focus: Specializing in Gender and Inclusive Mediation, UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and Norm Diffusion, her work explores the interplay between civil society, UN systems, and member states in policy development, with emphasis on Women, Peace and Security frameworks.
Publications: Recent 2025 works analyze gender dimensions in Ukraine, including institutional trust, wartime roles, and violence awareness. Earlier studies examine Norwegian UNSC engagement, Nordic gender diplomacy, and global WPS index development.
Scientific Engagement: Co-author of the Women, Peace and Security Index, advisor to the UN Peacebuilding Fund, and organizer of high-level seminars on inclusive mediation.
