Torill Nyseth

Torill Nyseth is a Professor at the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Teacher Education, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Her research focuses on urban development, planning theory, public policy, governance, and multicultural urbanism, with particular attention to the Arctic region. She contributes to debates on social inclusion, place identity, and institutional innovation in Scandinavian cities.

She is a member of the research group Sted, Makt og Mobilitet (Place, Power and Mobility), exploring how places transform in a globalized, mobile society. Her work bridges theoretical analysis with empirical studies of local democracy and cross-cultural mediation in urban policy.
