Tore Julsrud Berg is a Professor in the Department of Endocrinology, Morbid Obesity and Preventive Medicine at the University of Oslo. His primary affiliation is with the University Hospital of Oslo (OUS Aker). He holds the academic rank of Professor II, indicating a clinical or part-time academic appointment. His research focuses on mechanisms of diabetic late complications, health services research, and improving collaboration between primary and specialist diabetes care.
He has held leadership roles including Head of the National Council for Diabetes (Norwegian Directorate of Health) since 2020 and Head of the Professional Council for the Norwegian Diabetes Registry for Adults since 2019. His background includes serving as Strategy Director for the National Diabetes Strategy (2010-2013) and Section Chief Physician in Diabetes at Aker University Hospital (2006-2020).
