Torben Thorbjørn Knudsen

Torben Thorbjørn Knudsen is a Professor in the Strategic Organization Design Unit (SOD) at the Department of Marketing and Management, University of Southern Denmark. He also serves as Chair of Social Sciences at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS). His academic career has been centered on organization theory, strategic management, and economic evolution.

His research interests include strategic organization design, organizational adaptation, economic evolution, and decision-making in organizations. His work bridges theoretical modeling with empirical validation, focusing on unresolved questions in strategic management, particularly around micro-foundations of adaptation and organizational learning.

His unit, SOD, hosts a vibrant international research environment with scholars from institutions like Stanford, London Business School, and Wharton.
