Tonya Shepherd

Tonya Shepherd, PhD, is a Research Scientist working with Dr. Juliana Rangel and an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University's College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. She contributes to research projects on honey bee health and genetics while managing the molecular biology lab. Dr. Shepherd also teaches Honey Bee Biology (Ento 320) in both online and in-person formats.

Education:

• Undergraduate: B.S. in Biochemistry
• Graduate: Ph.D. in Medical Science

Research Focus: Her expertise spans Honey Bee Biology, Microbiology, and Genetics, with research activities centered on honey bee health, genetic studies, and molecular biology lab management.
