Tony White is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Binghamton University (2023), an M.A. in Philosophy from West Chester University (2009), and a B.A. in Math Secondary Education from Thiel College (2007). With over a decade of teaching experience at institutions like Penn State and Misericordia University, his research focuses on nonviolent resistance, metaphysical nonduality, and virtue ethics.
His areas of specialization include Ethics, Social & Political Philosophy, and Philosophy of Nonviolence. He also teaches courses like 'Ethical Theory,' 'Bioethics,' and 'Philosophy of Religion.' White is a facilitator for the Alternatives to Violence Project and coordinates its Northcentral PA chapter.
Recent publications explore sectarianism in social contexts and the philosophical underpinnings of nonviolence. His work appears in Social Philosophy Today and edited volumes like Politics, Polarity, and Peace.
