Professor Tony Walker ASM serves as a Vice-Chancellor's Strategic Fellow at Victoria University, leveraging over three decades of senior leadership experience in ambulance services. Formerly Chief Executive Officer of Ambulance Victoria (2014-2022), he spearheaded transformative initiatives improving workforce wellbeing and community emergency response systems across Victoria.
His professional credentials include registration as a paramedic, Fellowship with the Australasian College of Paramedicine, and membership in the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Current governance roles encompass non-executive directorships at the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Emergency Services Foundation, and TLC for Kids.
Professor Walker's expertise spans Emergency Medical Services, Paramedicine, and First Responder Mental Health, with significant contributions to cardiovascular health and resuscitation practices. His strategic leadership extends to the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA), where he previously chaired this peak body representing ambulance services across Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.
