Tony Pantev is the Class of 1939 Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a position within the School of Arts and Sciences and specializes in algebraic and differential geometry, Hodge theory, and mathematical physics with a focus on string theory and mirror symmetry.
His research activities include organizing major conferences such as the Inaugural Conference on Homological Mirror Symmetry (2015) and contributing to workshops at institutions like the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics. He has been actively involved in the Simons Collaboration on Homological Mirror Symmetry.
Pantev teaches advanced courses such as MATH 6230 (Complex Algebraic Geometry) and has co-organized international events exploring topics like non-commutative Hodge structures and the B-model in higher genus invariants. His work bridges geometry, physics, and category theory, with contributions to Higgs bundles, branes, and deformation quantization.
