Tony Broomhead

Tony Broomhead is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Art and Design, Sheffield Hallam University, where he leads the Interior Architecture and Design course. He holds qualifications including BA (Hons), DipArch, MArch, and ARB. His roles extend to Practice Mentor at the Royal College of Arts, External Examiner for Interior Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and Trustee of Interior Educators.

Education: Studied Architecture at the University of Sheffield, followed by professional practice in London before returning to Sheffield in 2011. His research focuses on sustainable and interactive design, emphasizing accessibility and playful architecture.

Media contributions include co-producing 70+ radio shows on architecture for Resonance FM (2006–2011), live performances at design events, and the cross-country audio installation 'Sonic Shed Project' (2007). Recently, he designed for the BBC’s CBBC TV series The Dengineers, teaching children architectural design principles.

Teaching spans BA Interior Architecture and Design, BSc Architecture, and MA Architecture modules. Collaborative projects in Sheffield emphasize light-touch, sustainable design and community engagement.
