Sarah Joyce

Dr Sarah Joyce is a Senior Lecturer at the Manchester School of Architecture (Manchester Metropolitan University) and leads digital education design initiatives at the University of Leeds. She teaches architectural design and holds an ARB-registered architect license. Previously, she was a Senior Lecturer in Interior Architecture at Leeds Beckett University, with teaching stints at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.

• PhD in Architecture and Midwifery from University of Sheffield (2018)
• Diploma in Higher Education from University of Bedfordshire (2012)

Her research focuses on maternity care spaces, healthcare architecture humanisation, and architectural history. Notable studies include Le Corbusier's impact on post-war urbanism and modernist color theories. She advocates for user-centered design through qualitative methods, informed by her work as an NCT antenatal educator and her role as Parent Representative for Leeds Maternity Voices Partnership.
