Tony Bogaert is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Brock University, cross-appointed to the Department of Health Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from Western University and specializes in personality and social psychology applied to human sexuality research.
His research focuses on sexual orientation development, with particular emphasis on birth order effects, asexuality studies, and the origins of sexual offending. Additional interests include methodological issues in sex research, media influences on sexual behavior, and high-risk sexual behavior patterns. He has developed theoretical models including the Object of Desire Self-Consciousness Theory to understand sexual motivation.
