Tomás Ripoll Vera

Tomás Ripoll Vera, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Cardiology at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. He concurrently serves as Head of the Inherited Heart Disease & ATTR Unit at Hospital Universitari Son Llàtzer, Research Coordinator at IBSALUT (Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands), and Principal Investigator of the CardioGenetics research group at IdISBa (Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands).

His research centers on inherited cardiovascular disorders with emphasis on familial heart disease mechanisms, cardiovascular genetics, and transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR). As leader of the CardioGenetics initiative and specialized clinical unit, he integrates genetic diagnostics with clinical management to address hereditary cardiac conditions across the Balearic Islands population. His work bridges molecular genetics, clinical cardiology, and precision medicine approaches for inherited cardiomyopathies.

Dr. Ripoll Vera holds the prestigious Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), reflecting his contributions to cardiac research and clinical practice.
