معرفی
Tomohiro Gonjo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, Heriot-Watt University, and affiliated with the Institute for Life and Earth Sciences. His research focuses on swimming biomechanics, with particular emphasis on velocity dynamics, drag analysis, and performance optimization in competitive swimming. He has published extensively on topics such as load-velocity profiles, propulsion mechanics, and the physiological impacts of supplementation in swimmers.
Research interests include understanding the hydrodynamic forces affecting swimmers, optimizing stroke techniques, and analyzing the interplay between kinematics and performance. His work often employs advanced methodologies, such as semi-tethered testing and statistical parametric mapping, to explore movement coordination and efficiency.
Recent articles highlight studies on flutter kick propulsion, creatine supplementation effects, and age-group comparisons in young female swimmers. These contributions underscore his commitment to advancing both theoretical and applied aspects of aquatic sports science.
Gonjo teaches the 'Fundamentals of Sport and Exercise Biomechanics' course, contributing to the education of future researchers and practitioners. He actively collaborates internationally, with research extending across biomechanics, sports physiology, and motor control.
