Tommy Andersson is a Professor at the Department of Economics, Lund University, and an Affiliated Professor at Stockholm School of Economics. His research focuses on mechanism design, market design, and strategy-proofness, with notable contributions to kidney exchange programs (STEP) and school choice mechanisms. He teaches microeconomics and mathematical methods, having received multiple pedagogical awards. Andersson collaborates with governmental and private organizations, applying his research to real-world policies. He holds editorial roles, including at the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, and serves on committees such as the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences Prize Committee (2019–present).
