Tayfun Sönmez is a Professor of Economics at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. His research focuses on microeconomic theory, market design, and mechanism design with applications to school choice, organ exchange, and pandemic resource allocation. He has contributed to redesigning the U.S. Army's branching process and influenced school choice policies in Boston, New York City, and internationally.
