Tomasz Korybski

Tomasz Korybski is a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey's Centre for Translation Studies within the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of the West of England (2013) and a MA from the University of Warsaw (2004). His work bridges academic research with professional practice in translation and interpreting technologies.

Previously, he taught interpreting and translation at the University of Warsaw and other Polish institutions (2009-2019), while maintaining a freelance career as a conference interpreter and translator. His research focuses on Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI) technology, hybrid human-machine solutions, and interface design optimization for interpreting platforms.

Recent research includes studies on Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) impact on RSI performance and comparative analyses of RSI platform interfaces. He has contributed to international conferences like LREC 2022 and HiT-IT 2023.
